Windows 7 Ultimate - Default is HID Keyboard Device
I have a Dell 760 USB Keyboard withWindows 7 Ultimate installed.The keyboard that installed is a HIDkeyboard device. The keys are not quite right, so I have had to display the option keyboard that comes with Windows 7 Ultimate to enter characters from their respective key. Howdo I go about getting the correct keyboard installed for myhardware?TIASandy

Sandy you need the original Dell drivers, assuming, of course, that they work on Windows 7. I have a Microsoft USB keyboard and that too, according to device manager, has had the default HID drivers installed. To be honest I haven't got round to even trying to install the original drivers yet for my keyboard; i will probably do that in the next few days.You might contact Dell to see if they have any updated drivers for your keyboard. If they don't and the current ones don't work with Windows 7 it is a case of playing the waiting game until Dell release the relevant windows 7 drivers.John Barnett MVP: Windows XP Associate Expert: Windows Desktop Experience: Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk; Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org; Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org;
