Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RC Build 7100/ unexpected failure @ explorer.exe
When i start running explorer from the Desktop shortcut I get un explorer.exe error because of this, explorer never starts
The error message is:
THIS FILE DOES NOT HAVE A PROGRAM ASSOCIATED WITH IT FOR PERFORMING THIS ACTION. PLEASE INSTALL A PROGRAM OR, IFONE IS ALREADY INSTALLED,
CREATE AN ASSOCIATION IN THE DEAFAULT PROGRAMS CONTROL PANEL.

Exactly how was your desktop shortcut created? Did you right-click on the desktop and click New | Shortcut and browsed for Explorer.exe in C:\Windows? Or right-click on the EXPLORER.EXE file in C:\Windows - and click on Create Shortcut?I can't duplicate the issue as either method seems to be working properly on my box. If this is an upgrade from Vista or a previous version of Win 7, there may be an issue with the shortcut itself.

write "explorer" in run command and see if error ocurs or not.If not then your shortcut may have some problem.

Still having this problem? I believe I've seen this problem before on Windows XP and I may be able to find a fix if I do a little research.

I think some sort of virus cause you the problem.It may change the link of explorer.exe from registry or deleted the registry which links to your explorer.exefind out how to set registry for explorer.exe from search engines.I hope it will work
