Windows 7 Unexpected shutdown Blue screen error

Recently I have updated my new Dell Studio 15 laptop to Windows 7 Home Premium from Windows Vista. After that I am having frequent unexpected shutdown. The error like this:    Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3 Locale ID: 16393 Additional information about the problem: BCCode: 9f BCP1: 00000003 BCP2: 85CA5B60 BCP3: 82F5DAE0 BCP4: 89BDDBF8 OS Version: 6_1_7600 Service Pack: 0_0 Product: 768_1 I need the experts help to solve my laptop problem. If not possible how can i go back to the vista

Hello,To help figure out where it's crashing, we need a little more info.Please create a public share on http://skydrive.live.com. Then look in c:\windows\minidumps. Hi Ravi,Those files are pointing to the driver for the Intel wifi adapter as the source of this problem.I'd suggest checking Windows Update to see if there's a newer version of these drivers. Then check Dell's website (looks like there are several models in the Studio 15 series). If that doesn't get you a newer driver, try going to Intel.If you need help finding these drivers, please post the name of the net adapter (from device manager), and the specific model of your laptop (like Studio 1555, 1535, etc.).Thanks,MarkWant to know if your current hardware & software will work with Windows 7? Hello Mark, Thanks for your suggestion. I have tried the windows update. It doesn’t find the new drivers. Then I went to Dell website. It dosent have an option for Windows 7 32 bit. Also when I try to update the driver through the device manger it says: “Update Driver Software - Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN The best driver software for your device is already installed Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date. Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN” Then I have downloaded from the following Intel site, the driver http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Wireless+Networking&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+WiFi+Products&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+WiFi+Link+5300+and+Intel%C2%AE+WiFi+Link+5100+products But this driver won’t install. I don’t know what to do with this. Please help me. Computer Specification: Dell Studio 1555, Network adapter name: Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN.

Please copy c:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log to the public share on skydrive that you created earlier.That will let me know the driver version information, as well as the Hardware ID of the device. No clue why it wouldn't upgrade. There must be something they're checking for in their install program that they don't like. The version and date of the Intel package is newer than what's installed on the machine, so that means it should be a better driver match.I'd suggest downloading the ZIP version of the Intel install package (from the same link above). Extract all of the files to some local temporary directory. Then go to device manager, right click on the wifi adapter, select properties, go to the driver tab, click on update driver, then browse your computer for files and point at that temp directory (all the way down to the level where you see the setup information files).Want to know if your current hardware & software will work with Windows 7? Hello customer, First of all, upgrade BIOS to the latest version and restore it to the factory default; remove all unnecessary hardware devices from the computer, try entering Windows safe mode to test whether it is a third-party software/hardware compatibility issue. If so, please download and run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to check the reason for the issue. If the issue is caused by some incompatible driver, you might go to Device Manager, right click your hardware device in the list and select Update Driver Software; then click Search automatically for updated driver software. If you still get the BSOD error after installing the latest driver, please understand that Windows system uses separated user mode and kernel mode memory space, stop errors are always caused by kernel portion components, such as a hardware device, third-party drivers, backup software or anti-virus services (buggy services). The system goes to a blue screen because there is some exceptions happened in the kernel (either the device driver errors or the service errors), and Windows implements this mechanism: When it detects some errors occur in the kernel, it will kill the box in case some more severe damage happens. Then we get a blue screen or the system reboots (it depends on what the system settings are). To troubleshoot this kind of kernel crash issue, we need to debug the crashed system dump. Unfortunately, debugging is beyond what we can do in the forum.
