Windows 7 and Blackberry Bold 9000
We recently bought a new HP computer with Windows 7 and Outlook 2010. Prior to this we had Windows XP and Outlook 2003, both of which were compatible with Blackberry. I am now finding out that Windows 7 is not, which is an issue w/my boss who uses Blackberry for his calendar and contacts as well as email. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a solution? It's really frustrating - we don't have an IT dept. I'M the IT person and that's not saying much! Of course he's beyond annoyed at this and it becomes my problem to deal w/. I cannot believe that the 2 are not compatible. How can the biggest companies in the world not be compatible w/each other? I did call BB tech support and was told it was "an issue they are working on". That's promising........... Any help is always greatly appreciated!

I don't think this is an issue with Windows 7, more like an Outlook 2010 problem. I've got several Blackberry devices in my company (four 8530's and one 9650) that work perfectly well with both Windows 7 (x64) and Vista (also x64). But then, I'm still using Outlook 2003. Try going to Blackberry's website and downloading their latest client software. Also, if you use Exchange (any version from 2003 on) you might want to look into Blackberry Enterprise Server - they even have a free version (Express) that supports a limited number of users (up to 40 I believe). It's a bit of a pain to set up, but once it's working you can pretty much leave it alone and just let it do its thing.

Thanks - we may just put Outlook 2003 back on this computer. It's still frustrating that this happened.

One more question: you don't mean wireless sync, do you? The old ActiveSync won't work with Windows 7 (or Vista for that matter). At the moment the only way to sync a Blackberry directly with a Windows 7 client computer is via a USB cable.

Hi, As BlackBerry told you that they are working on the issue, it is mostly due to the compatible driver problem. Currently I recommend you to install and use the smartphone in Windows XP Mode.
