Windows 7 and Rosewill RNX-G300 E PCI wireless compatibility?
Hi, I just installed Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on my desktop and I am unable to access my wireless card (Rosewill RNX-G300 E). Being a broke college student I would prefer not to buy another card and would like to work this out. I manually installed the driver provided by the CD for Vista 64 bit, however it results in a Code 52 error (Digitally signing thingy). I'm running a Rosewill RNX-G300 E on a Gigabyte M57SLI-S4 mobo. any help is really appreciated since I can't run a wire, Thanks

Btw is it detected under device manager when you install the card manually on the pci slot?

If you can't establish internet access through a wired source, then ask a friend to go here http://www.rosewill.com/support/download.aspx?ids=3_39_112_1123 and get a Windows 7 32/64bit driver For Win7 32&64 bit V1.5.4.0 Download Size: 25.2 M It shows that its a Rosewill RNS-G300EX. You didn't identify your wired network connection or I could have pointed you to a new driver for it. Without the revision number, I can't point you in the right direction for your motherboard drivers, so I'll let you find them. ;)

I can't run a wire because the router is in another room in my apartment and I don't have a cat5 long enough, plus I don't want to clutter the place up with wires. It does detect my wireless card but it cannot "verify the digital signature" @cdobbs: Thanks, I installed that driver but I still have the same error :( and I'm not sure which revision my mobo is....

Fyi you need to input the same ssid and passphrase for both router setting as well as the wireless setting on your comp, to do that you need to use wire first till you managed to logged into the router config page and input the necessary and verify that the wireless card is indeed detected, next save and exit from the router config page and try to access again, this time with wireless.

Hi, Please try Daniel's suggestions. Meanwhile, I would like to confirm whether there is any exclamation mark or question mark beside the Wireless card in Device Manager? If so, please reinstall the driver in Compatibility Mode for a test. If there is any error, please capture and upload it Thanks, Novak

I suggest Daniel Ho, you don't post answers on the issues you have no answer for, ur suggesting router setup stuff and if u read Vabruno's 4 post you should see that he has Driver problem and not the connection problem, I bet he will do just fine as soon as windows 7 will let us use "Digitally UNsigned Drivers. Now about the problem let me explain as simply as possible. Vebrano4 Is trying to connect to the internet using RNX-G300-E Wireless PCI card. After installing the product using all kinds of drivers included on the CD and what's available on the Rosewill's website (drivers for XP,Vista, 32Bit as well as 64Bit) he gets exclamation mark next to installed device saying that there is a problem: Windows is unable to verify digital signature on the driver. Now it woudn't have happened on any other windows (XP, Vista) but Windows 7 clearly says: "Due to the possibility that Digitally UNsigned Drivers by the manufacturer of the product may be altered by third party may contain malicious software or any other problems of that type. Windows 7 CANNOT install the device without properly DIGITALLY SIGNED DRIVER from the manufacturer which ensures Driver's Authentication ( Driver is safe and isn't altered by third party). Now because there isn't any Driver that is Digitally Signed for RNX-G300-E, at least I haven't found one ( I have the same problem btw) because product has been discontinued. I believe only solution for that issue is either get rid of the card or windows 7. Correct me if I'm wrong, maybe there is a such driver or there is a way to somehow make Win7 let us install the driver that is "Unsigned". I tried many times and Windows simply won't let u start installed device because it's driver's which is fine don't heave the silly signature ( great Microsoft there is a thousands of drivers like that, why don't you simply add option "Let me use the driver anyway on my own risk) That would solve the problem. I hope It'll help you Vebrano4, in my case I'm getting 75ft cat5 cable which costs about 18$ on cableclub.com and it is wise move because in my case I need the most speed I can get from my connection and wireless usually gives me unstable connection and issues with signal resulting in much lower speeds. Just find the way to hide that wire well and you'll be just fine.
