Hi i have windows 7 ultimate but i carnt join it to my domain (Windows Server 2003) as it says An attempt to resolve the dns name of the domain controller in the domain being joined has failed. Please verify this client is configred to reach a dns server that can resolve dns names in the targe domain. If anyone can help please reply thanks phil

And what is the DNS setting on the Win 7 machine? If the Win 7 is using the DC's IP address for DNS (as it should), what does a nslookup of the domain name give you?Bill

Hi Bill How do i check this. if i go to run> nslookup it says Defalt server: gdns-8.man.opaltelecon.net Address: 62.24.218.223 I have also done this on the server and it is saying the same thing have you got any advice phil.
