Windows 7 and biometric devices
Does Microsoft intend to support the Microsoft fingerprint reader in the Windows 7 RTM? It worked fine with Vista and Windows 7 Beta build 7000. I assume Microsoft has no intention of doing so because they are refunding to me the money I paid for it. If that's the case, does Microsoft have any intentions of supporting any third party fingerprint readers in the RTM. Thank you in advance for any assistance regarding this matter. It is the responsibility and duty of everyone to help the underprivileged and unfortunate among us.

The last drivers/software that were made for this device are not compatible with Windows 7. Microsoft Hardware Support for the Windows 7 RC ReleaseWindows 7 does include a completely rebuiltWindows Biometric Framework (WBF) which will expand the extensibility for Biometric support and help to resolve all of the many compatibility issues with these types of devices that has been seen in the past. You might also want to open Help and Support and search for Biometrics.Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP
