Windows 7 and nested domain groups issue
We have just got our first two Windows 7 machines and have discovered that when trying to access our folders on our department drive our test users are getting access is denied. Further detail below:- Single 2003 native domain. testgroup1 - Domain Global testgroup2 - Domain Global user1 network share - \\server\sharename\test\test2 user1 is a member of testgroup2 testgroup2 is a member of testgroup1 testgroup1 applied to folder \test - Permissions "List Folder/Read Data" - Apply To - "This folder only" testgroup2 applied to folder \test2 - Permissions "Full Control" - Apply To - "This folder, subfolders and files" user can not Browse folder \test - gets access denied if user puts \test\test2 into address bar they can then browse. The stopping block seems to be that first folder where the nested group is. this only happens on Windows 7 machines any users accessing on XP, 2000 and 2003 Server are fine. If anyone has any ideas that would be great. Thanks inadvance.

Hi, First, you need to check your share fold permission as the screenshot below: Whether you have already given the user1 Share Permissions. If so, Then please kindly move the user1 to testgroup1 to have a test.

Juke, thanks for your reply. The share permissions are already set to Everyone - full control. The permissions all work for any user that is using windows xp or windows 2000 and has done for the past 12 months, it's just windows 7 that it does not work for and as we will soon be getting a lot more windows 7 machines this will become more of an issue.

Hi, OK, you may kindly move the user1 to testgroup1 to have a try, have you done this? let me know the result. Also, you may change the testgroup1's permission of folder test to full control to have a test.
