Windows 7 can't upload file larger than 300kb
Hello everybody, I'm looking for solutions for my problem. My scenario: My workplace upgraded our OS from Windows XP x32 to Windows 7 Enterprise x64. Since then whenever I want to upload a file that is larger than 300kb to our EDMS server (web based), I always got timeout. I created windows virtual pc with windows 7 x32 (I didn't installed any software on it except firefox 4) and tried to upload the same file, I still got time out. I was using Internet explorer 8, firefox 3.1, and firefox 4. They all gave me the same result. I created another windows virtual pc with windows XP SP 2 then I installed firefox 4 and internet explorer 8. I uploaded the same file and it worked. There is no problem uploading with windows xp. More information: Server: Windows 2003 IIS - Apache/Tomcat EDMS Software: Java No more support for the software since it is an old software Desktop PC: Windows 7 Enterprise x64 It's already been customized by our computer tech support and I don't have admin right to the desktop computer symantec endpoint protection installed Virtual PC: Windows 7 SP 1 Enterprise x32 only firefox 4 installed No antivirus installed Firewall off No update installed Connection: Ping statistics: Packets: Sent = 9, Received = 9, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 1ms, Average = 0ms I've already tried in my virtual pc windows 7: a. disable IPv6 b. disable autotuning Anybody knows the solution for my problem? If I do need some tweaking, please tell me with detail how to tweak it. Thank you for your time and help. Regards, Andy

Hi, According the issue, I want to confirm the following with you before troubleshooting: 1. EDMS is only the general term for a cluster of software. Would you please tell me the software name of this EDMS on your sever? 2. Did you need any add-ons in Internet Explorer when you use this software? If so, could you confirm whether it support Windows 7? From your description, I suspect that two kind of problem would cause this kind of problem--- permissions problem or network issue. I suggest that you may try to run Internet Explorer as administrator, then check the issue again. Then we could narrow down whether this problem is caused by permissions issue. If the issue persists, I suggest that you may capture network package by following steps: 1) Download NetMon3.4 from the following website and install it on the computer http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=983b941d-06cb-4658-b7f6-3088333d062f 2) Launch NetMon3.4 on the both client and the server. 3) In the Microsoft Network Monitor 3.4 window, click Create a new capture tab … 4) In the new tab, select all the Network Adapters in the Select Networks window. 5) Then, switch to Network Monitor, press F5 to start NetMon. 6) Try to upload a file (>300KB) to the sever. 7) Go back to the NetMon window and press F7 to stop the NetMon. 8) Press Ctrl+S to save the Netmon file named test. 9) Upload the files via SkyDrive ,and post a link here. Then I will analyze the log file to ensure whether this problem is caused by network issue. I really understand how frustrating this is for you. Since this software is not Microsoft product, I haven’t much information on it. I would do my best to assist you to solve this problem, but I cannot guarantee that the problem could be solved. I think the best way to solve this problem is contacting the software manufacture. Hope that helps Best Regards, Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
