Check and verify that a telnet server is installed on the host. If the host is a Windows 7 or Vista machine, please be aware that the telnet server was removed as "standard" software for those versions of Windows. You may install the telnet server from the OS Install disk after selecting Turn Windows features On or Off in the Programs and Features section of the Control Panel . If the host is a Windows XP or Linux/Unix machine, check and verify that the telnet service is running.
