How do you override Windows7 Default UserName limitation of 20 Charaters? I need to create accounts larger than 20 charaters, put no more than 64. The Windows7 Workstations are not presently membered in AD. I know that AD will resolve this problem, but would like to work around limitation without having to rely on AD. Thanks,

Hi Dale, You mention that I could "name in AD" to get pass the 20 characters. I am not sure what you mean by (name in), or are you referring to adding the workstation to Active Directory? I was hoping to find an alternate solution to getting around the limitation other than adding to a domain. It seems a local group policy or modification to the registry would be available. As I know, there is no GUI configuration to get pass the 20 characters. Maybe you could program a codec to achieve this. I would like to recommend you to post in MSDN forums to get some help.
