Windows 7 desktop networked printer cannot connect error 0x00000002
Computer running Windows 7 (32-bit) cannot connect to a printer shared on a Windows 2008 R2 server. All the other computers in the office can connect fine. The computers belong to the same domain, and the desktop computer can see the shares (including the printer) in Explorer and can access the files and folders, but not the printer. Trying to add it as a network printer results in a 0x00000002 error immediately while trying to connect. Currently, it is setup with the local printer work-around (\\server\printer), and although this appears to work, it does not actually solve the problem.
