Windows 7 doesn't let me manually choose Network Location
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 6.1.7600.16385 with latest update (26/10/2010) AVG Anti-Virus and Firewall I accidentally selected something like "treat all future networks as public and don't ask me again" when choosing Network Location on my laptop and now windows doesn't let me manually choose the Location when I connect to new Network. Some suggested to click on the network in "Network and Sharing Center" and untick the "treat all future..." box. But the problem is that there is no box or message to untick, all I can do is select a different Network Location. I thought it could be AVG conflicting with something so I tried disabling AVG temporary and restarted my laptop few times but nothing. Could it be something to do with a registry? Please help. Thanx

I found a solution in a registry. HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Network\NwCategoryWizard There was 2 REG_DWORD entry "Show" and "Suppress". "Show" with value 0 and "Suppress" with value 1. All I had to do was change each value around. "Show" to 1 and "Suppress" to 0 and now I can manually choose the Network Location again.
