I heard that Windows 7 codes can be used for up to 10 computers, is that right? If so, I'm using my code for the Evaluation copy - build 7100. I installed this copy of Windows on my friend's computer however she her computer's denying my code. I installed the Windows 7 beta/RC as I thought you can still gain a Windows 7 key from Microsoft but I can't find the section of the Microsoft website to do that anymore. I need help validating her Windows 7 Beta/RC, any links and help would help and be much appreciated by me and her! Thank you!

Microsoft stopped making keys available for download as of 21 October.However, I've read that there was only a small number of keys that were ever used - as few as 16. Any one of them should be usable with a large number of PCs. I have no idea why the key didn't work on your friend's PC, if you have an RC (build 7100) key, and she has that build on her machine. (The watermark at the lower right corner of the screen should give the version number.)The keys have been posted to the Web. Any web search engine should find them for you with little effort.

As bobkn said, RC key are stopped from ordering but it will still work. Make sure your friend and you are using a same version of Windows 7 (Windows 7 RC). Meanwhile you may have a test on rearm steps instead of trying to find a key for the Windows 7 RC system.
