Windows 7 networking, can't watch video
I have a laptop running windows 7 professional 32-bit and a desktop running windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. I have been watching videos on my laptop, which are stored on my desktop, over a wireless network. All i had to do from my laptop is open windows explorer, find the file i wanted in the shared folder on the desktop and double click it to play the video in windows media player. it was working fine for me like this up untill last week. As far as i know i didn't do anything to change settings or anything like that however when i try the same thing now windows media player opens, nothing happens for a while then wmp is not responding and i have to close it. initially i thought it might be the wireless so i connected it using a wired connection but the same thing happens. Sometimes i can't even see the desktop connected to the network, sometimes its there but i cant access it. There seem to be multiple problems, i have no idea where to start looking for a solution. Any help would be much appreciated

Hi, First, I would like to confirm that if it is able to access the shared folder as normal. You may ping the computer with the command “ping computer name” or “ping IP Address”. Also, you may try to download one of the video on your local machine to test if it is able to play. Please reboot the computer in Clean Boot to check if it works. If the issue persists, I would like to confirm that if there are any programs or updates installed before the issue occurs and if there is any error encountered when the issue happens.
