Windows 7 on SBS 2003 R2 Domain - Halts the Server
I'm working on a SBS 2003 R2 domain that is patched and up to date. When I plug in my Windows 7 Professional computer that is on the domain the server essentially comes to a halt. It responds to pings and there is some internet traffic, however the pos system that runs form the server and all other server access basically stops. There is no way to login to the server at this point and the only way to fix it is to power down the server and bring it back up again with the Windows 7 computer disconnected. Has anyone run into this before and been able to fix it? I've turned off the IP Helper and Broswer services on the Windows 7 box to no avail.

Ok so we've done some more checking and it seems to be the windows 7 sync center that's causing this issue. If offline files are turned off then everything works fine, but as soon as they are turned on again the server basically halts. Any ideas out there?

Hi, Please check the following on the server when the issue occurs: 1. Run Process Explorer to check which processes are using a lot of system sources: Process Explorer 2. Check the Event Log and see if there are any related errors. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT
