Windows 7 powered the computer down last night...
OK, this doesn't sound like it should be a problem, but when it powers down the computer for no reason (i.e. I was not even at the machine at 4:04 AM) I get concerned. I'm even more concerned because I see this in the event log:The process C:\Windows\system32\winlogon.exe () has initiated the power off of computer on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found Reason Code: 0x500ff Shutdown Type: power off Comment: I've done the usual, tested for a virus, etc... all drivers appear to be in working condition and so on. This has never happened before so I wanted to check and see if others have experienced this or if this is normal. If this is "normal", wouldn't you think the computer should probably log a reason as to why it was shut down? It could be something not related to Windows 7, but seeing as it's only a RC I'm not leaving it to chance. So, anyone run into this before? Any thoughts on why it happened?

Hello bob,What anti-virus did you use to scan the system and where did you download your copy of Windows 7 RC? There is a worm that is known to do this called i-worm.vb-tc. Try downloading the beta version of AVG here and rescanning your computer.-Scott
