Windows 7 requires non-specific login when connecting from another computer
Windows 7 pro (32 bit) server - no password authentication for network access
Vista home basic (32bit) client
client runs access database from server maped drive (s:) on startup
---------------------------------------------------------------
Over the past few moths these 2 machines have been talking to eachother very well
today client was unable to start database (Drive not connected)
Opening database gives "Can't find database file"
Opening s: drive gives "the password for this user has expired. Connection has not been restored "
Opening Server brings up login screen typing in any character combination in name and no password will give access to the server) -obviously no authentication
To open the database not takes 5 steps instead of opening up automatically
I have tried (almost) everythingI could find on the web but was unable to find a solution
Hope someone has a solution

Hi,
I would like to know if you set the password policy on Windows 7 server. What 5 steps do you take to access database file? Can Windows Vista access any other files
on Windows 7?
I suggest you refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.
1. Set simply password for Windows 7.
2. Update the network adapter on both sides.
3. If any route is used, reset it and update the firmware.
4. Remap the drive, recreate the shortcut for the database.
If any error message is received, please let me know.
Best Regards,
Niki
