I am running a Vaio TT with 8Gb Ram, 512Gb SSD, Intel 2 Core Duo 1.6Ghz and Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. It takes at least 1 minute for my laptop to go into hibernation and about the same time (at least!) to wake-up. Much slower than my previous Vista system. Microsoft Update reports all is updated. What can I do to get the normal hibernation speed? Thanks.

Hi, Did you try updating the BIOS and device drivers? If the issue persists, access Clean Boot to check the issue. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, you can continue to narrow down which entry is causing the issue. Also, check the registry key value by the following steps to see if there is any improvement: 1. Click the Start Button, type regedit in the "Start Search" text box and then press ENTER. 2. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control 3. Right click the Control entry, choose "Export", select Desktop in the Save in box and type backup in File Name. Click Save. Please Note: The backup file is on the Desktop and named backup.reg. We can simply restore the registry by double-clicking the backup.reg file. 4. Highlight this key on the right pane, and then double click WaitToKillServiceTimeout to check its value. 5. Set the WaitToKillServiceTimeout to 20000, which represents 20000 milliseconds, or 20 seconds. You can change this to a value of 5000 for 5 seconds. 6. Restart the computer and check the issue. I have done all the above - it helped no more than reduce the time to hibernate from 30 to 27 seconds and the time to wake-up from 45 to 41 seconds, which is not really significant.
