Windows 7 will not shut down in full or safe mode
The computer: HP Pavilion Elite HPE-570t Core i7, 3.4Ghz, 8GB hp memory, 750GB Hard drive. The only added internal periferal is a Hauppauge WinTX-HVR 1850MC Video tuner card. The Problem: The computer will not shut down. When you go to shut down the computer it has a circle that just turns and turns. It never locks up or finishes shutting down. What I have done so far to correct the problem: 1. Disabled all services and performed a clean boot. 2. Rebooted into Safe Mode and attempted to shut down 3. Checked for outdated drivers and updated as necessary 4. Ran CCleaner and cleaned up registry, temp files, etc. 5. Uninstalled any unecessary programs on the computer 6. Computer has SP1 so hotfix wont work, its technically already installed. I have noticed that if you shut down the computer and wait long enough and hold the power button to turn off. When you start the computer back up it will not give the error stating the computer has not been shut down properly (the menu asking if you want to boot into safe mode). It seems it may be actually shutting down but just not finishing the process by turning off the computer? Any help is very appreciated. Thanks!
