Windows 7 wireless profiles with no server
Hi everyone, I have a small home network 3 machines (one desktop and 2 laptops - all windows 7) and no server. It's just a workgroup/homegroup setup, but I've recently bought a RAIDed NAS drive to backup important stuff. I'd like to put the user profiles from the desktop machine onto the NAS drive as we all store lots of stuff on the desktop machine (in our my docs folders, etc). So, I did this by moving the various folders from the C: drive to the NAS. This causes problems though - because the network is wireless, the profiles never load on startup. I always get a blank desktop... Once the network drivers / whatever are loaded and the wireless has located and connected to the network automatically the NAS drive is accessible and I can Refresh the desktop to see my stuff. But its a bit of a problem as the desktop is blank initially, and even when I refresh it loses my layout. Is there any way to do this properly in Windows 7? I don't want to lose anything from these folders so they need to be on the RAIDed NAS, but I don't want to have an issue everytime I turn the computer on or switch user. Thanks for any help you can give, Karen
