Windows 7 won't boot after install
I checked for compatibility before installing the RC client. I installed windows 7 on a clean drive. My system is a 3GHz E3850 on EVGA680 SLI board with 2 GB of Firestix 1200 and an EVGA Geforece 8800 GTX.Installation completes and the machine reboots, the windows 7 logo appears and then the screen goes black as if there is no signal from the video card. Do you have any idea what might be causing this.

Can you access Safe Mode? If so, check in the Windows folder for the setuperr.log file and see if it contains any error that could be the cause of this. If you can't get into safe mode then the install is borked and needs to be redone.

I fixed my problem. There was nothing wrong with my install, just for some reason windows was having a problem with my LCD screen. I have a Sceptre 22in LCD. The computer was still working fine. I plugged in my old 19in flat CRT and i could see everything just fine. Once windows was finished running it's final setup procedures i installed the EVGA video card driver for windows 7 then plugged my new screen back in and rebooted the computer. Everything works great now. Hope this helps!

Clint -You need to reinstall - insert the DVD you used to install Windows 7 RC from and run through the installation process again. You can do either a clean install - meaning the drive in question gets formatted and everything on it gets wiped out or you can try an in place upgrade - installing Windows on top of itself.

Just in case someone tries, safe mode will not work. Windows must be in regular boot up in order to complete an OS install. Safe mode unistalls drivers that windows needs to finish.
