Windows 7 wont sleep after VPN connection
HiI have Windows 7 Prof (fresh install) x64. I use the build in IPSec/L2TP. If i start the machine, use the internet for a while and hibernate - no problem. But if i use the VPN, disconnectand try to hibernate - black screen and nothing happens (waited for 15 minutes). I can hear Outlook notifications and so on - but screen keeps black. Have to do hard reset. Is there any timeout on the VPN?Thanks,Michael

I would like to keep this thread alive to see if there is any solution. I am having the same issue - if I use VPN at any point during the day, I have to shutdown as opposed to hibernating. Hibernating only goes to a black screen, but my laptop never shuts
off. This is after disconnecting vpn, so I am no longer connected before I try to hibernate.
I have had one other co-worker try the same steps with the same results.
I'm using windows 7 Ultimate, using multiple different windows vpn and cisco vpn clients and configurations.

I am also having this issue. Any luck resolving the problem?

I am also having this exact issue. If I use the microsoft l2tp/ipsec vpn connection, my computer will have the same exact behavior.
I have a Dell E6410 and am running windows 7 x64 professional.
Is anyone having this issue with a 32 bit version of windows 7 or with a non-dell machine?
I want to make sure it is a windows issue (32 bit or 64 bit) and not a Dell issue.
