Windows 8.1 Preview Default Camera App does not recognize the webcam

Hey there

I installed the 8.1 preview over a fully functional 8.0 installation and I found out that the windows camera app does not recognize the Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 anymore(used to work fine before the upgrade). I have to add that the camera drivers are properly updated and the camera works just fine in Skype / other applications, so the problem is only within the default windows camera app. Is it something that will be fixed by a future build?

Hi Nikolas,

Is your camera recognized by others Apps ? If No, the it may be a driver problem !

Thanks !

If the issue only occurs on Windows Camera app, I suggest you reinstall the app from Windows Store.

I am having the same thing here and I don't believe the graphic card drivers are the problem .... I have looked at this sent upgrading to Windows 8.1 and I think Logitech software is the problem Windows 8 recognize all my webcams and was in color on the Logitech desktop software, and the Camera App too.

However on the upgrade to Windows 8.1preview the Camera App won't recognize my Logitech Quickcam Orbit AF Web camera and the desktop software is in Black & White on both webcams...... I have not found a work around and might have to wait for Logitech to fix this.....
