So I recently bought a Gateway and started to use it. However about a week ago it randomly started to have problems. 

1. Randomly minimizes all my stuff and pops up saying that the computers key has not been put in.

2. When it restarts it tries to update but it gets to 80% then says failure to configure windows updates reverting changes and it does restarts but then says it again restarts then finally I can log bk in.

3. Or on a rare occasion while playing a game it says pc has encountered a problem restarting and shows kmode exception not handled.

If this is a OEM version of the O/S preinstalled on the computer when you purchased it, then the computer has software warrantee 30, 90 or something days after purchase.  You can take the computer back and get a new one.
