After joining the Windows 8 Pro ultrabook to Server 2012 Essential the apps from the local user including office 2013 do not show up on the domain account ( same user as the local account ). Also drive maps from GP do not show up.

PS: There was a info message about some post connector install sources & urls that I would like to track down again.

Before going further, I would like to confirm if you customized the default profile for the domain users. Did you search app from Start Screen after joining domain?

Regarding the mapped drive, please map the driver manually to check the permission issue.
