Windows 8 RemoteApp connection freezes

RDP Client 6.3.9600

Connecting to a Remote App hosted on Windows Server 2012 R2 Session Collection with RD Gateways

Connecting to the Remote App from the Windows 8 machine works as expected but after 5 or so minutes the session freezes and does not reconnect for some workstations.  Other Windows 8 computers work fine on same network.

Remote Windows Server 2012 R2 environment is set to disconnects idle session after 2 hours.

Could this be an internal network device that is causing the freeze? Does anyone have any

Hi Akmal7,

Is the machine up to date? Have you tried to connect from another Windows 8 machine to have a troubleshoot?

Thanks, I will give the hotfix a go and update the results. The Windows 8 machine is fully patched.

I would also consider the possibility that the network adapter is being disabled for power saving. I would suggest unchecking the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power checkbox under the Power Management tab of the device properties (right click the device in Device Manager).

So the cuase of this issue was due to a Web Security application casuing the RemoteApp session to freeze. This was a customer network where I had a limited view of their infrastructure.
