I have a feature for providing to Microsoft. See the following:
We know Windows 8 tries to integrate the desktop and the touch interfaces into one OS. However, I think Microsoft forgets to update "Windows File Association," accordingly. For example, our Windows 8 can install these apps: Adobe Reader for desktop and Adobe Reader Touch. Unfortunately, you can set .pdf file association to only one of them in Win8.
Why not if you use the "mouse" or "keyboard" to open a .pdf file in File Explorer, Win8 invokes Adobe Reader for desktop? And why not if you use your finger to open a .pdf file in File Explorer by touching, Win8 invokes Adobe Reader Touch?
This concept should be not difficult to be implemented, for example, Windows File Association could provide two kinds of default app setting for one file type. One kind is keyboard/mouse, and another kind is touch.
I hope Microsoft can consider this concept in its future Windows.
