I don't know what I did to mess up my computer, but something is definitely wrong. First of all it's been taking a crazy long amount of time to load up... way longer than usual. Shortly after the welcome page opens a pop up saying:Windows Corrupt Filethe file or directory c:\windows\system32\wbem\Logs\wbemcore.log is corrupt and unreadable.It also tells me to run the chkdsk utility which I have done several times without any success even after the computer has been restarted several times.The pop up continues to come up the entire time I'm using the computer through the physical pop up or a bubble in the bottom right corner with a ! triangle.Does anyone know what is causing this, what I did, or how I can fix it!?Please help me out!!!Thanks!1 person needs an answerI do too

Can you try renaming wbemcore.log? You may need to boot into safe mode to do so.

I'm not that computer smart... so I searched it and renamed wbemcore.log. Do I need to rename it to anything specific??? I just named it... wbemcorerename.log. At this point I'm not sure if that changed anything but I'm going to do a restart to check!

I am having the same issue, it woudl not let me rename because it said it is common- my error msg is aol/userprofiles\allusers\cls\common.cls-journal is corrupt and unreadable. please run the chkdsk utility- i run it and it does not work

Try booting into safe mode and renaming the file from there - see if that works.

I had a similar alert and found the chkdsk utility website which suggested a download. Don't know if this is legit.
