Windows Defender Failure Live Mail Contact List Access
With Windows Defender Updated and Active on my 7 Starter OS, my Hotmail Contact list apparently was accessed and used for spam while on AT&T Wi Fi at McDonalds yesterday afternoon. With a critical process to move forward, found myself locked out of my Live Mail this morning. Re set my password and answered endless questions to access. Then scanned the machine with Windows Defender and Malwarebytes. Then forwarded an example of the spam with a link http://saintfrancisfoundation.org/nvlauty.html?dk=kpynji to the spammer to abuse@hotmail.com from the secondary e mail account where I found it. Hotmail acknowledged receipt however, no assistance or advise was offered. Given that Windows Defender was Active, how do I prevent this from happening in the future and what should I do about my Contact List?

Hi, It seems your system has been invaded. Please change the more strong password for your Windows Live account. Meanwhile, if you access to the un-trusted connection, please set your Network Location Awareness as Public network.Kim Zhou TechNet Community Support
