Windows Explorer has stopped working - Windows 7
Running Windows 7 Pro. When browsing my directories and sometimes moving or copying files from one directory to another, I get a pop up operating system window saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working" with options to 1) Check online for
a solution 2) close program 3) debug program. I thought it may be a virus. I have Norton Internet Security 2010 and ran a full system scan. No Virus. I ran the office Repair / fix.... no change.
Any ideas anyone?

Hi,
please download this reg file from my SkyDrive:
http://cid-128fc518635be2dc.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/MS%20Foren/Registry/WER%5E_Explorer.reg
and make a double click on the file to import it.
When the explorer crashes, Windows Error Reporting Service creates a dmp file under C:\Localdumps. Please upload the file to your public Skydrive folder and post the link here. I take at the dump, maybe I can see the cause.

This issue can be caused by software confliction. You may troubleshoot with Clean Boot Mode.
Perform a clean startup to determine whether background programs are interfering with your game or program
If the issue occurs in Clean Boot Mode, you may use
ShellExView.

Run ShellExView, in the pane sort the entries with manufacturers. Disable all non-Microsoft *.dll files, and check the result. If the issue does not occur, one of the files can be the culprit. We could narrow down it one by one.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Hello,
Please try starting your computer in safe
mode. Safe
mode is a troubleshooting option for Windows that starts your computer with only basic services and functionality. If an existing problem doesn't reappear when you start Windows in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic device drivers
as possible causes.
I would recommend disabling 3rd party
applications to see if they are causing the issue. Please try a “clean
boot” to see if any background programs are interfering.
Also, if you are using Firefox, some people have has success in removing
add-ons in Firefox(mentioned in Firefox
crashes explorer.exe)
