Windows Home Server on a mini-itx board.
I'm looking at complimenting my Windows 7 system at home with a WHS with ~ 4tB of storage. So far this is what I have planned out: Mobo : Intel Intel D510MO PCI slot : MASSCOOL, 4 internal SATA (XWT-RC040) Mini PCIe slot : Commell Sata2 card (MPX-3132) RAM : 2x 1gB DDR2 (2gB total) Power : picoPSU-80 HDDs : Seagate Baracuda 500gB 720rpm (at least 4, as many as 8) Will this work? Any better recommendations for more reliable hardware / consistency? Thanks a bunch ^_^

Nothing to offend you however this is the first time I have seen anyone to be so cautious about system requirements for a client OS. It's nice to see that though.. If anything is better than the minimum/recommended requirements mentioned below it would work for us. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/system-requirements -- Regards, Vik Singh -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please remember to click ??Mark as Answer? on the post that helps you, and to click ??Unmark as Answer? if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Thank you for the link to the Windows7 system requirements. I already have windows7 running on a Lenovo W500. The system requirements for WHS ( http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/c/0/9c0ef09a-585f-4e20-a605-9f225cc11721/WHS_GettingStarted.pdf ) indicate a far lower bar. My concern is however, the compatibility / driver issues about using 2 onboard sata2 ports, 2 sata2 ports off a mini PCIe card, and 4 sata1 from a PCI card. Second concern is meeting the power requirements to run the 8 hdds off the possible 80w or 90w power supply. (as 4 will not be esata unless I can find an esata capable PCI card)

Hi, Thanks for the post! I recommend you also ask this question in Windows Home Server forum, it’s a better place for this question. And you could find some communities there who have the similar questions as yours. Thanks for the cooperation and understanding!
