I run Windows XP Home Edition SP-3, IE 8.0.6001. It's my understanding that SP-3 carries Windows Installer,v. 3.1. Recently I keep getting an error message that (to paraphrase) Windows Installer isn't working. It could be your in Safe Mode or Windows Installer is corrupted. Last week I went on line, downloaded Windows Installer 4.5 and eveything was ok for a couple/few days. Yesterday the problem began again.Point: I haven't been able to download or uninstall for a couple/few days. Since I don't want to uninstalling SP-3 and then reinstalling SP-3 again to get Windows Installer 3.1 back and working, is there a way to correct whatever has corrupted Windows Installer 3.1 in SP-3?GWP Sr
