Windows Live Mail
I replaced my computer recently. Took out the hard drive and put into enclosure. I am unable to locate the emails that were put into offline storage folders. I believe they were windows live emails. Any ideas? I have about two years of emails on the hard drive.1 person needs an answerI do too

Search for *.eml. steve <Tom in PA> wrote in message news:Email removed for privacy...I replaced my computer recently. Took out the hard drive and put into enclosure. Did that and all that shows up are emails that were moved to C:The offline storage folders that are used with Window Live desktop can be found? I was able to move documents and other information, just these offline emails are lost?

The link is to the WLMail forum and it works for me. Try copying it and pasting it into your browser's address bar.Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]Imperial Beach, CA

That site is a little buggy at times. Try again later.I would gladly help if I could, but other than searching for *.eml like Steve suggested, I have no idea.Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]Imperial Beach, CA

I had to replace the computer because a virus was preventing me from starting up. I needed a new computer anyway, so, other than this email situation, all is good. Do I need to install the hard drive and boot it up or should the files be on the drive?

Do I need to install the hard drive and boot it up or should the files be on the drive? If you have the drive set up as an external drive, and you are searching that drive for the files, that's all that you should need to do.If you go into Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance | Store Folder on your current WLMail, it will show the path to your messages in your new WLMail. The path to your store folder on the old drive should be almost identical.Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]Imperial Beach, CA
