I am having issues finding an update and running Overdrive.  I have tried everything that was already suggested, but nothing is working.  When I try to update, the update button shows gray and won't let me select it.

I am having the same issue on a new Windows 8 machine and I am ready to scream.   I have the Overdrive program installed now but it will not download files (WMA) until I update the Media Player Security.   There is a link under Tools in the program to do this but I am not successful there and I have tried going directly to the download online.   I always get an error window "Windows encountered a problem trying to read the file."   Help!  

Did you ever get this fixed.  I am having the same issue.
