Windows Mobile 6.1 says device is disconnected while Device Manager says its working properly.
I have been syncing my HP Jornada 560 successfully, first with XP Active Sync, and now Window 7 Mobile 6.1, for many years. After coming out of sleep, the Sync Center says that the device is disconnected and seems to make no attempt to sync. The only way that I have been able to force the issue is to uninstall the device. It shows up in the Device Manager under Mobile Devices as HP USB Sync 1611. The uninstall, without deleting the drivers, causes the sync center to see the device and synchronization progresses as one would expect. Going to sleep the first few times seems to work OK, then it stops and I have to do the whole sequence again--a real pain. Someone suggested downloading Windows Mobile 6.1 to fix the problem. That didn't help. Any advice on this issue would be appreciated. I am using Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium on an HP Pavilion with an i7-950 CPU.

You may need a higher version of HP USB Sync. I suggest you contact HP support and ask if the latest version of HP USB Sync is compatible with Windows 7.
