Windows Network Protection NT Kernel System - yes or no?
I turned my computer on and got this pop-up: NT Kernel System has changed since the last time you used it. What is this? Is this part of an update or is it a virus? Please help.

Could be either, but to be safe you should run a scan on your computer. Microsoft now has a FREE Microsoft Safety Scanner @ http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspxPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, ntoskrnl.exe is a critical process in the boot-up cycle of the computer, that's why the warning pops up whenever you turn your computer on. The change can be due to a recent update. Base on my experience, when you are using the Symantec™ Endpoint Protection, it will give you a Network Threat Protection message. If you didn’t find any virus or spyware after scanning, you can click “yes” for this message.
