How do I get a license code to extend windows 7 RC untill the offical release in October? If you have the RC (build 7100), activated using one of the RC keys,it's fully usable until March 1, 2010. You can verify that by running winver (a command prompt program). It then begins to shut down every 2 hours, and becomes inoperable on June 1, 2010.

The Beta (7000) expires on August, 1. It will cease working and this expiration date cannot be extended. The RC (7100) expires June 1, 2010, with bi-hourly shutdowns starting on March 1 (or 2), 2010. IOW, the RC will definitely work till Windows 7's release in October. What else do you want to "extend"?Mobile AMD64 3000+, VIA Apollo K8T800 chipset, 1 G RAM, ATIRadeonMobility 9700, 20x DVDRW, C:XPSP3 (55G),D:WIN7 (25G),F:DATA (250G)

Thanks for your response.. I am aware of the above but need to extend beta till Windows 7release in October. Any ideas? If you refer to the original public beta (build 7000), as far as I know there is no Microsoft-sanctioned way of doing that. There may be hacks to extend it, but it wouldn't be wise to ask for them here. The moderators would (quite properly) delete them immediately.I'm curious as to why anyone would wish to extend Build 7000. I had poor reliability with IE8 in 7000 X64. 7100 seemed much closer towhat gold code should be.If it involves not being able to install 7100 as an upgrade over 7000, there is a Microsoft-published method to work around that:http://blogs.msdn.com/e7/archive/2009/04/07/delivering-a-quality-upgrade-experience.aspxIt involves modfiying a file in the installer that is part of version checking.I've never tried it, and don't know how reliable it is.
