Windows Update problem
Hi, Problem out of the blue regarding windows update on vista ultimate from a home user. Apologies if this is the wrong forum. It won't load! The window comes up, with System and Maintenance>Windows Update at the top, but nothing happens. It's just a white blank window and task manager is the only way to close it which results in windows explorer having to be restarted even though it still says in task manager that windows update is running. I've done an sfc /scanow to check data integrity and have installed the windows update agent again succesfully. I'm assuming this is also the reason that the new windows live essentials suite won't install as the first thing it does when you click install is "registering with Microsoft Update" and it just stays there, again needing task manager to exit. How can this problem be solved? Greatly appreciate any help. Thanks very much
