Windows Vista can't access web page with self-signed certificate?? Help
Hi Everyone, I just install Vista and try to access and a web page with self-signed certificate using IE7. However IE 7 doesn't seem to allow me to accessthe pageand what odd is that IE did not allow me to view the certificate nor did it allow me to install the certificate either. I also have a program written in VB .Net thatneed to access this site also. However the program fail with error "System.Net.WebException: The Request was aborted. Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel". Vista seems to be very strict with self sign certificate site whereas XP was working fine..Does any one know how to solve this particular problem and allow my program and IE7 to free access this self-signed certificate site... Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks

Hithere If you have the certificat file (*.cer) you might have a chance to import it to Vista "Trusted Root CA", but you need administrator rights to do so. I have heard that exporting the certificate from an XP, and importing it on Vista might help. However, I have just tried to import a self-signed certificate to a Vista Business, and even though Vista says import was succesfull, the certificate does not show on the list. The strange thing is, I am able to install it under personal certificates. Any good idears ?? Thanks
