Windows XP Stuck in Safe Mode!
My PC froze up several times so I went to msconfig and chose "Selective Startup" restarted PC and got Safe Mode, "screen with black panals safe mode written in white font" Ran Norton 360 and came up with Trojan.miad Norton took care of the viruis. I went back to msconfig and chose "Normal Start up" restarted PC and got what looks like safe mode but screen is for a better word "funky" task bar is tan have no internet have limited use of everything. Tried several times to restart pc in normal, I have MSI mainboard option for DOS is Tab, in DOS chose Normal startup, still in funky safe mode. Found several blogs such as this one, one in particual suggest using OS cd to repair. OK did that but had OS installed by a dealer and have no clue what my administrator password is. I made one in BIOS and made one as admistrator. As a result still cannot repair with OS. One problem I have is my driveis not labled as C: drive. It is F: drive. idk why the pros labled my drive as F: I installed a new hard drive, installed OS and got up and running. But still I need to fix the problem hard drive for programs...etc. Can Anyone Please help?1 person needs an answerI do too

There is a hidden 'Administrator' account (the account name is: Administrator) in Windows. The default password for this hidden account is normally blank (none). For XP Home users:Boot the computer into Safe ModeDo this by pressing the F8 key (several times) start pressing F8 immediately after the Power On Self Test is finished, and until the Start menu appears. This will get you to the correct menu window. Once in Safe Mode, you will see the normally hidden Administrator accountand any other accounts.(Note: Accounts are displayed alphabetically). Use the mouse or Up/down arrow keys to highlight the 'Administrator'account. The default password is a blank (no password required). For XP Pro users:You do not need to go into Safe Mode.At the Welcome Screen, do/press the Ctrl-Alt-Del keys twiceto display the Windows logon box.Type in "Administrator" (without the quotes),by default the password is blank, no password need be entered. Now as to that virus its possible there are still reminants or more than one virus.Malwarebytes is a good start. Also:Virus Removal InfoProvided by: Malke - MS MVP:http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware Also:Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive softwarehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/827315JShttp://www.pagestart.comNever be afraid to ask.
