I have Window XP Pro sp3. I cannot change my desktop background. My current background only shows about 1/5 of the picture. The other 4/5 of the picture is white.I cannot change the picture.I can stop Explorer.exe in task manager and the picture will show normally complete. Of course when this happens I cannot right click or view the task bar.When I restart Explorer.exe, the background will go back to the 1/5 view again.Has anyone got an answer for this annoyance.thank youwlacy004

This can be a challenge but mostly likely not any malware. This is most likely a problem with the active desktop. Open the Control Panel, Display Properties, Desktop tab, click the Customize Desktop button, click the Web tab in the Desktop Items window. Disable the the active desktop by unchecking anything in the window and then hit Synchronize. This should work.
