Windows XP stops communicating on the network at a certain time of the day.
Hello, We are facing a weired sort of problem on our network. There are few Windows XP client machines which suddenly stops working in the sense that outlook shows disconnected, internet explorer cannot open any page, and no communication happens with the network. Following are the different behavior of these PC's:Behavior on User1 ---> User leaves for the lunch locking his computer and when he returns back find that he cannot access any network related resource, at the same time pinging is normal with any network resource. When we log off and login back ALL GOES WELL AGAIN.Behavior on User2 ---> User leaves for the home locking his computer, next day he returns to find that his outlook shows disconnected, Internet explorer cannot open any page but at the same time he is able to access his home folder on the file server and pinging to email server and ISA server is also normal. When we log off and login back ALL GOES WELL AGAIN.We tried to disjoin and rejoin these affected PC's to domain but still the problem remains same. Tried to remove the user profile and recreate it, still the problem is intact.Windows XP computers are with SP2 installed on it.Lookin forward to expert help on this problem.RegardsBurhanM1 person needs an answerI do too

I've seen similar issues on XP when one of the power-saving options kicks in when a PC is idle for a time, like spinning down the disks or sleeping Windows.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]--------------------------------https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/Brian.TillmanIf a reply helps, please vote it as helpful.
