Windows does not create user profiles__
OK... here's what I did. I renamed the user profile in XP (SP3). When I rebooted the PC, it told me "Windows cannot load the users profile. The default profile will e loaded instead."
I tried the recovery console. It worked until I rebooted again. Now, when I am in the System/Advanced/User Profiles/Settings tab, the only account that shows up is the Administrator. No new or old profiles show up in this area. I
can create them till my heart's content, but they never show up here.
When I check under User Accounts in the Control Panel, all of my accounts appear. They just don't show up when I check them under System/Advanced/User Profiles.
That being said. When I log into the administrator account, everything works the way it's supposed to. All programs and hardware function properly. When I allow Windows to log me in under the "Default User" account, most of my software
malfunctions.
Please help... I am losing hair and sleep. I am old enough that I need as much of both as I can get.
