Windows error
My computer model is: Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5200. I have no external hardrives or anything like that.... When I start up my computer, it goes to a black screen with white text that says the following: Windows Error Recovery If windows files have been damaged or configures incorrectly, Startup Repair can help diagnose the problem..... Then it gives me the choice of choosing either Launch Startup Repair (recommended), or Start Windows Normally. The problem is that neither of these works. When I launch startup repair, it goes into the screen that says "Windows is loading files......" With a loading bar that gets about 3/4 the way through, until it goes to a different screen. This screen says: "Windows Boot Manager Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by a faulty hardware such as a hard drive or CD-ROM drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer. If you continue to recieve this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer. Status: 0xc00000e9 Info: An unexpected I/O error has occured." Nothing I have tried works. Ive tried CTRL+ALT+DEL, and nothing. Ive ruled out a power issue, because Ive allready tried the removing battery, and nothing has changed. Also, my laptop came with everything pre-installed, so I dont have a CD with the repair utility. I have been using my computer for about 4 months now, and have never encountered any major problems, until yesterday. The last thing I was doing was playing minecraft, completly regularly, and Im not sure what I did? How can I resolve this problem? I am willing to post any other info neccisary. Thank you for any support.

See information @ http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/help/contact-support If Windows was already installed on your computer when you purchased it, your computer manufacturer provides support for Windows. > If you continue to recieve this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer. Toshiba is the manufacturer of your hardware, not Microsoft. You need to do as the message tells you and contact the hardware manufacturer. Your system is covered by a warranty you paid for in the price of the system - USE THAT WARRANTY!Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, It is most likely a hardware issue. I would like to verify if Windows 7 is pre-installed when you purchased the computer. When did the issue occur? Please keep pressing F8 when starting the computer to access advanced startup options. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/search?q=advanced You can try: 1. Safe Mode with networking. 2. Last Known Good Configuration. 3. Startup Repair. If you select startup repair, you will access System Recovery Options. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-7 You can try: 1. System Restore if any early point is available 2. System Image Recovery if you have backed up. 3. Windows Memory Diagnostic 4. Open Command Prompt, then run: chkdsk /f /r Niki Han TechNet Community Support

Thankyou for the suggestions Niki! Yes it was pre-installed. Also, when trying to startup that way, 1- I dont get to try to start it with the last known goof configuration, and 2- I dont get the option to start it in safemode, and 3- Startup repair leads , me in an endless loop where it says there is an unexpected I/O error. And also, none of the other four have worked, except the open comand prompt, which I do not know how to do, so I havenot tried it.

Hi, I am sorry to hear you cannot access System Recovery Options. Do you have repair disc or installation disc when purchasing the computer? If not, you need to contact Toshiba to get it first.Niki Han TechNet Community Support
