Hi Little Tornado, As Windows XP operating system is installed on F: drive and it is the boot volume, it is not recommended to change the drive letter of boot volume. Note: Changing the drive letter of the system volume or the boot volume is not a built-in feature of the Disk Management snap-in.You may refer the below link: How to change drive letter assignments in Windows XP:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307844 Regards:Samhrutha G S - Microsoft Support.Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

I recently upgraded my hard drive and installed XP Professional. The hard drive is labeled F: is there away to change this? It is my system drive. There is a method to change the drive letter. However, I would only advise this if you are comfortable altering the registry. This is not a difficult process if you are careful to follow the directions. The method on the link in the answer above does not apply to drives containing system volumes. Changing the drive letter using that method WILL render windows unbootable.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223188If you are not comfortable altering the registry simply re-install windows this time making sure you have unplugged all devices other than the cd rom, keyboard and mouse. This includes any media card readers, printers or other devices.I don't vote for myself I'm not here for the points. If this post helps you, vote. Visit my forum @ http://repairbotsonline.com/
