Windows update restarted without my consent
I recently experienced windows 7 closing my programs and restarting windows to update without asking or getting consent that a restart would be appropriate at the given time. While I was using several programs, Windows shut them down during use, without
consent, and restarted the computer. Luckily I was not using a program where a critical data loss was possible, however it certainly was a nuisance, and I could have been working on something important where a shutdown would have been a lot more critical.
Is this an error within windows, or are there special circumstances where windows overrules and deploys an immediate shutdown ?

The article states that this is a property of systems dating pre windows XP SP2, where a manual fix is needed. However my issue is regarding windows 7, and is either a different issue, or this very undesirable feature is reinstated in windows 7 systems.

Didn't see the second link, I only saw the proposed answer regarding the registry change, and that does not apply for windows 7.
