Wired networking
I have 2 computers both have windows 7 home premium, 1 computer is 64 bit the other is 32 bit. I'am try to connect the 32 bit computer to the 64 bit(64 bit is my gateway) computer. When i go into properties to add printer sharing, and to add protocol and
client, and click add, then a window comes up with a radio button that says" have disk"..what disk do i need and or what software do i need to install. Im not very good at explaining things so bear with me..lol
I'm using an EVDO mifi 2200 verizon to access internet on my gate way machine.

In order to tidy up some confusion, I have a couple of questions:
When you say you are trying to connect these two systems, what are you goals with this connection? From what you said, I cannot tell if you are trying to setup Internet Connection Sharing, Printer Sharing, or both?
When you say that the 64 bit system is your gateway, do you mean you want it to be, or it is currently performing that function.
If you are just trying to add a printer on the 32 bit system from the 64 bit, you would need to provide a 32 bit driver for that printer that is of the same version as the one on the 64 bit machine. This can be obtained from the manufacturer's website.A+, Net+, Sec+, MCP, MCTS, VCP4

Connect the 2 computer via wired lan(Ethernet) and to share the printer and to share internet connection thru ICS. I want the 64 bit computer to be the gateway, as for the printer, i have 64 bit drivers on the 64bit computer and 32 bit drivers for the printer
on the 32bit computer.
I hope this answers your questions.

You need a crossover cable to connect the two computers properly via ethernet. A standard cable will not work.
Your setup will work internet via usb, peer-to-peer network with a crossover cable.
Then you can configure ICS (internet connection sharing) and printer sharing on the host computer.
It's somewhat of pain to find a crossover cable as they are not used much with self-sensing routers and switches available today.
Without the crossover cable, you can create an Ad-Hoc wireless network if computer #2 has a wireless adapter.

All of the DSL and Cable boxes I have seen have an Ethernet port that connects to the wireless box. Then the remaining 4 ports are available for wired users and the wireless-n can support more users.
The OP is trying to use the Ethernet and the USB cable together.

I do not have DSL or cable available out here in the sticks thus iam running a wireless hotspot card(MIFI). I have a cross over cable attached and when i use trouble shoot network the little blue circle hovers over the internet icon on the task bar on both
machines like they are seeing each other. The problem is when i go too add client to client machine it ask for a disk to install the properties..i tried posting a screen shot on here but forum didnt like it. If i get another wireless adapter then i can use
my MIFI as a wireless router by un tethering it from host machine, but i was just trying to use what i had here.
Thanks
