Wireless Connection Problem
Hi all.I'm having trouble starting my wireless connection. I cannot detect any wireless networks, and it seems the problem is from the WLAN service. I tried starting this service but it fails. It reports in the event log that the Ndisuio service is probably not installed. I guess this service is required to start the other one.I've search the whole web for a solution but i cannot find any. I have a Ndisuio.sys file in my drivers and the ndisuio.inf file in the inf folder but i don't have any service named Ndisuio. Can anyone assist me with this problem?Thank you.

Hi, I suggest that you try to repair that service from Registry. 1. Launch Notepad. 2. Paste the following content into Notepad. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Ndisuio] "Type"=dword:00000001 "Start"=dword:00000003 "ErrorControl"=dword:00000001 "Tag"=dword:0000000d "ImagePath"=hex(2):73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,5c,00,44,00,\ 52,00,49,00,56,00,45,00,52,00,53,00,5c,00,6e,00,64,00,69,00,73,00,75,00,69,\ 00,6f,00,2e,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,00,00 "DisplayName"="NDIS Usermode I/O Protocol" "Group"="NDIS" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Ndisuio\Linkage] "Bind"=hex(7):5c,00,44,00,65,00,76,00,69,00,63,00,65,00,5c,00,7b,00,46,00,38,\ 00,46,00,38,00,35,00,30,00,32,00,32,00,2d,00,37,00,31,00,46,00,39,00,2d,00,\ 34,00,38,00,37,00,46,00,2d,00,41,00,32,00,44,00,31,00,2d,00,46,00,32,00,44,\ 00,43,00,43,00,30,00,33,00,44,00,43,00,32,00,41,00,37,00,7d,00,00,00,5c,00,\ 44,00,65,00,76,00,69,00,63,00,65,00,5c,00,7b,00,38,00,44,00,34,00,38,00,34,\ 00,41,00,41,00,33,00,2d,00,45,00,38,00,34,00,33,00,2d,00,34,00,39,00,36,00,\ 44,00,2d,00,38,00,33,00,42,00,33,00,2d,00,34,00,42,00,33,00,37,00,45,00,34,\ 00,38,00,32,00,41,00,43,00,39,00,36,00,7d,00,00,00,00,00 "Route"=hex(7):22,00,7b,00,46,00,38,00,46,00,38,00,35,00,30,00,32,00,32,00,2d,\ 00,37,00,31,00,46,00,39,00,2d,00,34,00,38,00,37,00,46,00,2d,00,41,00,32,00,\ 44,00,31,00,2d,00,46,00,32,00,44,00,43,00,43,00,30,00,33,00,44,00,43,00,32,\ 00,41,00,37,00,7d,00,22,00,00,00,22,00,7b,00,38,00,44,00,34,00,38,00,34,00,\ 41,00,41,00,33,00,2d,00,45,00,38,00,34,00,33,00,2d,00,34,00,39,00,36,00,44,\ 00,2d,00,38,00,33,00,42,00,33,00,2d,00,34,00,42,00,33,00,37,00,45,00,34,00,\ 38,00,32,00,41,00,43,00,39,00,36,00,7d,00,22,00,00,00,00,00 "Export"=hex(7):5c,00,44,00,65,00,76,00,69,00,63,00,65,00,5c,00,4e,00,64,00,69,\ 00,73,00,75,00,69,00,6f,00,5f,00,7b,00,46,00,38,00,46,00,38,00,35,00,30,00,\ 32,00,32,00,2d,00,37,00,31,00,46,00,39,00,2d,00,34,00,38,00,37,00,46,00,2d,\ 00,41,00,32,00,44,00,31,00,2d,00,46,00,32,00,44,00,43,00,43,00,30,00,33,00,\ 44,00,43,00,32,00,41,00,37,00,7d,00,00,00,5c,00,44,00,65,00,76,00,69,00,63,\ 00,65,00,5c,00,4e,00,64,00,69,00,73,00,75,00,69,00,6f,00,5f,00,7b,00,38,00,\ 44,00,34,00,38,00,34,00,41,00,41,00,33,00,2d,00,45,00,38,00,34,00,33,00,2d,\ 00,34,00,39,00,36,00,44,00,2d,00,38,00,33,00,42,00,33,00,2d,00,34,00,42,00,\ 33,00,37,00,45,00,34,00,38,00,32,00,41,00,43,00,39,00,36,00,7d,00,00,00,00,\ 00 3. How to do an in-place upgrade on Windows Vista Ultimate ====================================== NOTE: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Windows. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. 256986 Description of the Microsoft Windows Registry http://support.microsoft.com/?id=256986 1. Click Start, type: REGEGIT in the Start Search bar and then press Enter. Click Continue if it prompts. 2. Navigate to the following registry key: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion 3. Highlight the branch Windows in the left pane. 4. In the right frame we will see the key EditionID. Double click the key. 5. Change the value from "Ultimate" to "Business" and click OK. 6. Exit the Registry Editor. 7. After that registry key is set, put in the Windows Vista installation Media to start the setup process. If you go through the options, it will give an option to upgrade to Vista Ultimate. 8. Select "Upgrade to Vista Ultimate" option and then follow the wizard to complete the in-place upgrade process.
