Wireless network registration failing
I have a Dell Laptop that is running Window XP. I am trying to connect to the internet at my house with the wireless adapter that is built into the laptop. The wireless adapter uses Intel Wireless Proset. I have been able to detect the connection, I enter in my device security pin, and I enter my WPA key. Everything looks fine, but when it reaches what looks like the end of the process it says "Registration Failed". Then I get a message that there is Limiter or No Connectivity due to the fact that it cannot assign an IP address. I have spent 3 or 4 hours trying to figure this out, and since this is a used laptop, the warranty has expired and Dell is absolutely no help. Does anyone think they might know the problem or how to resolve it? Thank you in advance.
